In the Book of Revelation (also called the Apocalypse of John), chapter 12, we read:

“And a great sign appeared in heaven: A woman clothed with the sun (that is, Fatima); and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars (that is, twelve Imams).

And being with child, she cried travailing in birth (the tragic fate of all the descendants of Fatima, peace be upon her).

And there was seen another sign in heaven: and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads, and ten horns: and on his heads seven diadems (tyranny of a false caliphate). And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven (during the reign of the Umayyads, a third of the Infallibles were killed) and cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered; that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son (an indication of the murder of Hussein and all other Imams, peace be upon them).

And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod (that is, from her womb came Imam Mahdi, who would establish the kingdom of righteousness throughout the whole earth); and her son was taken up to God, and to His throne (an indication of the Major Occultation). And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, that there they should feed her a thousand two hundred sixty days.

And there was a great battle in heaven, Michael and his angels fought with the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels: And they prevailed not, neither was their place found any more in heaven. And that great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, who seduceth the whole world; and he was cast unto the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying: Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Messiah (that is, the power of Imam Mahdi), because the accuser of our brethren is cast forth, who accused them before our God day and night (that is, slandered and fought against the Shiites of the Prophetic House). And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb (that is, Imam Hussein) and by the word of the testimony, and they loved not their lives unto death” (1-11).

I have given the interpretation of this passage in parentheses. It speaks so clearly about Fatima Zahra (A) that only out of stubbornness and fanaticism this can be denied.

Let’s see how Christian authors interpret it:

“Under the image of the woman clothed with the sun, John very clearly shows the church clothed with the Word of the Father, shining more than the sun. The fact that on her head there is a crown of twelve stars indicates the twelve apostles through whom the church was founded” (Hippolytus of Rome, “The Word about Christ and the Antichrist”).

This interpretation has become the most widespread: “a woman clothed in the sun” is … a church. In this case, how to understand the pregnancy of this woman and the child in her womb? Who is it? Who is the “big red dragon” who wants to devour this baby? And how could he be ascended to the Throne of God (that is, hidden from people)? How will this baby rule all nations with a rod of iron? After all, the Messiah among Christians is Christ himself; however, the Apocalypse was written after Christ and tells of events that will take place in the future, not in the past.

Andrei Kesariyskiy under the “birth pangs” of this woman understands “the care of the church for each of its members,” and writes about her child:

“A male son is the children of the church, unweakened by lusts.”

It is clear that through such a violent interpretation it is possible to ascribe any meaning to any text.

In addition, there are several other points in the above passage that make it even more obvious that the “woman clothed with the sun” should be identified with Fatima (A).

First, it says that the red dragon (that is, the false caliphate, in our interpretation) will have ten horns. There were exactly ten rulers of the Umayyad dynasty after Mu’awiyah (who finally established this caliphate): from Yazid to Marwan II.

Secondly, it says that the dragon’s tail drew the third part of the stars to the earth: this can be understood as the killing of five of the Fourteen Infallibles – the Prophet, Fatima, Ali, Hasan and Hussein (peace be upon them) during the time of the first “caliphs”. Because in the symbolism of Revelation, the stars are the Infallibles. So, Imam Sadiq (A) said in the interpretation of the verse of the Koran: “He created signs, and by the stars they are guided” (16:16) – “The star is the Messenger of Allah (S), and the signs are Imams” (“Kafi ”, Hadith 528).

Thirdly, a specific date is in the text of the prophecy – 1260 days: “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, that there they should feed her a thousand two hundred sixty days.” This is the exact duration of the existence of the wicked caliphate, if we consider that “days” according to the biblical tradition should be understood here as “years”. For the duration of the existence of the Caliphate was exactly 1260 years: from the proclamation of Mu’awiyah as the Caliph (July 660) to the Peace of Sevres, which declared, following the results of the First World War, the abolition of the Caliphate and the transfer of its provinces to European countries (1920). This means that the spiritual descendants of Fatima (A), Shiites, will have to live for 1260 years in the “desert”, that is, in constant fear and oppression, in the inner exile of the false caliphate.
